Vernell (Jolley) Hunt, 91, has been called home on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 in Midland, Texas. She was born on April 14, 1931 in Crockett, Texas to the proud parents of Rendie Mae Jackson and Bishop Jolley.

Vernell received her formal education at the Big Spring Public School. In 1960 she relocated to Midland, Texas.

During that time, she met and married her husband, Sammy L. Hunt Jr. To their union, they were blessed with seven children: Linda, Velma, Sammy III, Marilyn, Randell, Allen and Cornell Hunt.

Vernell was a devoted mother, grandmother and a very caring person. She was a member of Northside Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents Bishop Jolley and Rendie Mae Jackson, her daughter Linda Hunt Howell and Marilyn Hunt Lewis.

Those who will cherish her memory include: brother Jimmie Jolley of Dallas, Texas, her precious daughter Velma Jackson of Midland, Texas, sons; Sammy Hunt III of Oceanside, California, Randell Hunt of Cedar Hill, Texas, Allen Hunt of Glava, Sweden, Cornell Hunt of Midland, Texas and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren especially Tammy Howell who was Vernell's caregiver but also the eldest granddaughter who shared a bond with her grandmother that no one could explain, niece, Paula Jolley and nephew, Doug Jolley, other relatives, and special friends.

Andrews), Cecilia Flowers (Loving Hands), as well as the Northside Church of Christ.

At her request, everyone is asked to celebrate her life by doing an unexpected or unsolicited act of love or kindness to someone in her honor.

Receiving of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Avalos-Sanchez & Thomas Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Northside Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
