Jack E. Bartlett, 73 of Corning, NY, passed away October 13th, 2022, after he was in a tragic accident where he was burned and succumbed to his injuries. Jack graduated from Corning West High School. He was a hardworking man who taught his family the importance of working hard, being there for each other, and doing life together. He loved his family deeply, and was a solid father, and husband. He was a true mountain man who loved hunting, and black powder shooting. Some of Jack's favorite past times were butchering cows he raised, and cutting wood with his wife and children by his side helping. Jack leaves behind his beloved wife, Daniene Bartlett of 30 years; his four children: Edward J. Bartlett, Christine (Jay) Brown, Becky Onifer, and Kelly (Mark) Heater. Jack also had two stepdaughters that he loved as his own, Sheri (Josh) Allen and Cindi (Mike) Benjamin. He had 14 grandchildren: Kourtni LeViere, Jack Sheridan, Tyra Onifer, Mike Arnold, Mason Arnold, Jadyn Wood, Taylor Arnold, Marti Onifer, Nichole Hyjek, Brad Randall, Gehrig Allen, Jordan Allen, Mikey Benjamin, and Isabella Benjamin.
Jack also leaves behind a sister, Janeen Sheehe; and a brother, Dan Bartlett; as well as several nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. Jack was predeceased by his father, Edward J. Bartlett; and mother, Arlene A. Bartlett. Interment will be Friday, October 21st, at 11:00AM in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 563 Jerusalem Hill, Elmira, NY, 14901. A Celebration of Life will be held the following day, October 22nd at 1:00PM at Elmira Heights Legion, 236 Scottwood Ave, Elmira, NY, 14903. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations during the Celebration of Life or through a go fund me page created to help with burial and medical expenses.
