<p>Jack Boelman, age 65, died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at his residence in Steamboat Rock, IA.</p><p>Jack Glade Boelman was born on September 4, 1957 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, IA. He was the youngest of four children born to Folkert and Shirley (Glade) Boelman.</p><p>He grew up on a farm in rural Aplington. He attended Aplington Community School where he graduated with the Class of 1977. He then attended Area 1 Vocational-Technical School in Calmer, IA.</p><p>He was married to Nancy Hartema. They had two children. They later divorced.</p><p>He worked in the heating and cooling industry and then started Boelman Plumbing and Heating in Ackley which span from 1982 – 1999. He had various employment opportunities before he started with Peoples Service in June of 2003, retiring from there August 31, 2022.</p><p>On October 19, 2010 he was united in marriage to Cheryl (Hillstrom). Cheri brought two sons into the relationship.</p><p>Jack was a member of the Ackley Fire Department for 43 year and enjoyed motorcycling, woodworking, family time and home improvement projects.</p><p>Jack passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at his home in Steamboat Rock.</p><p>Those remaining to cherish his memory include his wife Cheri of Steamboat Rock; one son Nick Boelman of Reinbeck; one daughter Jena (Andrew) Jones of Kelley; two stepsons Luke Pickering of Eldora and Greg (Becky) Pickering of Machias, NY; eight grandchildren; siblings Mary (Scott) Groote-Diaz of Arvada, CO and Jim (Ilene) Boelman of Cedar Falls; along with many other relatives and friends.</p><p>Jack was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.</p><p><br></p>

Jack Boelman, age 65, died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at his residence in Steamboat Rock, IA.
