Roger Boucher

<p>Roger Boucher, 87, passed away at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough on October 12, 2022. He was born in Limerick, Maine on August 1, 1935, the youngest of the ten children of Louis and Ernestine (Martin) Boucher.</p><p><br></p><p>Roger attended school in Limerick. He married Norma Harmon in 1964 and they enjoyed 58 years together.</p><p><br></p><p>He worked at Moulton Lumber Company for several years. Roger raised chickens for Hillcrest Foods until 1981 and worked part time at F.R. Carroll Company. He was a self-employed contractor who built houses and did work with his backhoe and plowed snow at many Limerick homes during the winter months.</p><p><br></p><p>Roger was very active in the community. He was the fire chief of the Limerick Volunteer Fire Department from 1970 to 1987 and worked many hours helping to build the fire house in 1966. Roger was a member of the Ossipee Valley Agricultural Society where he even helped Norma, family members and fair members cook and serve the bean supper. In the 1970's he became involved in 4-H when his children started showing beef cattle at various Maine fairs. This continued with his twin granddaughters. In 2003 he started a chicken hatchery at Acton Fair and in 2005 built the large octagon incubator which is still there. </p><p><br></p><p>Frank helped at Gile's Family Farm in Alfred during the apple harvest. He also helped sell Christmas trees and ran the evaporator at the sugarhouse in the spring. </p><p><br></p><p>Roger was predeceased by his parents and his nine siblings.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his wife Norma, daughter Ann, son Frank, daughter-in-law Shirley, granddaughters Crystal and Courtney and many nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Highland Cemetery in Limerick.</p><p><br></p><p>Online tributes and condolences may be shared at Roger’s Book of Memories at www.bibbersautumngreen.com</p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements are entrusted to Bibber Memorial at Autumn Green, 47 Oak St., in Alfred.</p><p><br></p>
