Irwin David Kreisberg

Irwin David Kreisberg ,74,a lifelong resident of Rahway, died Friday October 14, 2022 with his family by his side. He graduated Findlay College in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science degree, Union County College in 1977 with an Associates Degree in Fire Science Technology and Jersey City State college in 1983 with a Bachelors degree in Fire Science. Mr. Kreisberg worked for the City of Rahway Fire Department for 26 years and retired in 1998 as a Battalion Chief. He was a Certified Fire Official who was a member of The International Association of Arson Investigators (New Jersey Chapter) , FMBA Local 500, Union County Arson Squad, NJ Society of Fire Service Instructors , the NJ Deputy Fire Chiefs Association and Union County Mutual Aid Coordinator. After working in fire safety Mr. Kreisberg began a second career working for the NJ Department of Labor Workforce Development (OSHA) . He retired in 2012 after 12 years of service. Mr. Kreisberg was predeceased by his daughter Noreen Fleischman in 2013 ,his sister Sara Lee Goldberg in 2020 and his parents Milton and Evelyn (Kirson) Kreisberg. He is survived by his wife Joanne Stephan Kreisberg of Rahway, his son Robert Kreisberg and his wife Stephanie of Mountainside, his sister Francine Kreisberg of Rahway, his son-in-law Robert Fleischman , his brother-in-law John Stephan and his wife Lorraine and his sister-in-law Carol Reiser. He will also be greatly missed by his four grandchildren Bryanna and Tyler Fleischman and Jake and Dylan Kreisberg and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Wednesday, October 19, 2022 ,11:00am at the Pettit- Davis Funeral Home, 371 West Milton Ave, Rahway. Interment Hazelwood Cemetery, Clark. Visitation Tuesday 2-4PM & 7-9PM.In lieu of flowers contributions to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Foundation or the American Cancer Society in Irwin Kreisberg's memory would be appreciated. Rahway, New Jersey
