James “Jim” Gray Kimbrough, age 85, passed away on October 12, 2022 in Franklin, TN. He was born on April 29, 1937 in Nashville, TN. Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Sue Davis Kimbrough; parents, P.E. and Frances Wynne Kimbrough; siblings, Robert, Charles and Ed Kimbrough, Frances Rothaar, Martha McDaniel, Betty Foster and Sara Pyles.

He is survived by his son, James (Judy Strickland) Kimbrough, Jr.; daughters, Debra (Jim) Badalamenti and Dana Kimbrough; seven grandchildren, Patricia (David) Christie, Gray Kimbrough III, Paige Adkins, Laura (Zum) Xanders, Lisa (Anne) Badalamenti, Hunter (Amanda) Kirkpatrick, and Sean (Heather) Kirkpatrick;15 great grandchildren; brother-in-law Dr. William Davis; and a multitude of wonderful nieces and nephews.

Jim graduated in 1955 from Howard High School in Nashville, TN. He was employed by Simplex Time Recorder for 35+ years, working in the Houston, Raleigh, Shreveport and Nashville offices. While living in Raleigh, he and Sue loved to work and travel with the Cary High School Band Boosters. James was an active supporter of Brentwood UMC, and served on their Board of Trustees for several terms.

Dr. Davis Chappell and Rev. Joe Pennel, Jr. will officiate a Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 11:00 am at Brentwood United Methodist Church, 309 Franklin Road, Brentwood, TN 37027. Visitation with the family will precede the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the Narthex. The family requests in lieu of flowers that contributions be made in memory of Jim to Brentwood United Methodist Church.
