Janice A Stump

<p>Janice Arlene Stump, age 82, of Bradner, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 8, 2022. She was born on February 4, 1940, in Bowling Green to the late Alfred &amp; Thelma (Gamby) Askins. Janice married Rex Stump, and they later divorced.</p><p>Surviving Janice is her son, Alan Stump of Risingsun; daughters, Vicki Fillhart of Wayne, Angie (Jeff) Babcock of Bradner; brother, Larry (Vickie) Askins of Cygnet; grandchildren, Kyle Dussel, Kelsey (Adam) Gnepper, Kaitlyn (Pat) Baumer, Ryan (Gail) Babcock, Amanda (Cody) Geiger; great-grandchildren, Brady, Sophie, Liam, Loren, Kayla, Kennedy, Jackson, Taylor, Reagan, Avery, Haylyn, Waylon, Lane, and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred &amp; Thelma, and infant sister, Joyce; and a son-in-law, James “Bo” Fillhart.</p><p>Janice was a 1958 graduate of Cygnet High School, then worked at Marathon Oil for 8+ years. She was a stay at home, caring for her children for many years, and then went on to work as a Clerk/Treasurer (Fiscal Officer) for 25 years for the village of Bradner. Janice was a member of the Bradner United Methodist Church where she was very involved as a Sunday School Teacher, God Squad, former Board Member, Choir, Lay Leader, and Bible Study just to name a few. Her belief in Jesus is what made everything good in her life. Among many hobbies, she enjoyed cooking and baking, her specialties were cookies and iced tea, and her greatest love in life was spending time with her family and friends.</p><p>Friends will be received from 1:00 – 2:00 PM on Friday, October 14, 2022, at the Bradner United Methodist Church, where a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:00 PM with Pastor Tamara Bennett officiating. Burial will be at Bradner Cemetery, with a bereavement dinner to follow back at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the Bradner United Methodist Church. All arrangements have been entrusted to Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne. Online condolences may be sent to Janice’s family at www.barndtfuneralhome.org.</p><p><br></p>
