Mary Lou Peterson

Mary Lou Peterson, 94, of Fargo, ND, unexpectedly left her earthly home and the care of her three loving daughters and was welcomed into her eternal home and the care of her Heavenly Father, on October 10, 2022.

She was born to Alfred and Louetta Green on March 21, 1928, and spent her growing up years in Sabin, MN. Mary graduated high school from Moorhead State Teachers College. In October of 1950, Mary began her 65 year marriage to the love of her life, David Peterson. She faithfully prepared 3 meals and 3 snacks each and every day for those 65 years.

The Lord blessed Mary and Dave with 3 daughters, Cheryl Peterson, Fargo, Kathy (Myron) Martinson, Moorhead, and Shirley (Harry) Ueland, Fargo. Mary trusted Christ as her Savior as a young married woman. God blessed them with 21 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren. She loved rocking and singing to babies and reading and playing games with the older ones.

As a homemaker, she portrayed patience, contentment, serving, giving, humility, selflessness, gratitude, and cheerfulness. Mary volunteered for 30+ years at The ARC Attic Treasures. She loved making delicious goodies for others – especially brownies, Special K bars and chocolate dipped cookies. She looked forward each week to Taco Tuesday which became Chick-fil-A Wednesday! Mary faithfully sent hundreds of cards to encourage both her family and her church family.

We know she was greeted by “Welcome home, good and faithful servant!”

Visitation for Mary will be from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, with a time of sharing at 4:30 PM, Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service.

Her funeral will be Friday, October 14, 2022, at 3 PM, in Calvary Church at Village Green, Moorhead.
