Loren Schumann, age 63 of Northfield, passed away at home with family by his side, on Monday afternoon, October 10, 2022, following a brief illness.

Loren Robert Schumann was born August 28, 1959, in Faribault, Minnesota, to Robert J. and Marilyn Ann (Bailey) Schumann. He was raised in the Northfield area and attended school in Hastings. In 1981, Loren married Mary Kay Murphy and they made their home in Bloomington, where Loren worked for Pepsi. In 1989, they moved to Castle Rock and Loren began working for Kemps Marigold in Farmington. In 2003, they divorced and Loren moved to Northfield. On July 28, 2007, Loren married Susan Ann Engen. They made their home in Northfield. In 2012, Loren began working for Sheldahl.

Loren enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, wood working and was a loyal Vikings fan. He was funny, boisterous and loved his family. He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife Sue; his children Robert (Abby Gibbs) of Rosemount, Aaron of Waseca, Amanda Fox of Northfield; his step-son Josh Engen (Phyu-sin Than) of Minneapolis; his grandchildren Lilliana, Olivia, Evylou and Jay; his father Robert of Northfield; his sister Regina (Clark) Nelsen of Elk River; his mother-in-law Kay Kuchinka of Northfield; sister-in-law Kathy Jasnoch of Northfield; his nieces Sabrina and Melissa; his dogs Milo and Rudy, his cat Brian; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, his brother Michael, father-in-law Don Kuchinka and brother-in-law Jeff Jasnoch.

A celebration of life will be held from 1:00PM - 4:00PM on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the Eagle’s Club in Northfield. There will be a time of sharing at 3:00PM. Honorary pallbearers are his nephew Brian Murphy and the F Troop - Peter Engen, Brent Wilcox and Roger Leese.

Memorials are preferred to Prairies Edge Humane Society.
