David William Copelan

<p>David William Copelan, 74, died peacefully with his family at his side at his Redmond, Oregon home on September 30th, 2022, after a long hard fought battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born on August 7th, 1948 in Santa Barbara, California. He is survived by his wife, Susan of 18 years; his beautiful daughters Darcy Padelford, Melissa Copelan, Mariah Ault, Janelle Parker, and Melissa Vercruysse; and his beloved siblings Rick Copelan, Brent Copelan, Pat Claudy, Anne Copelan, and Christine Childs. He had 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren that he adored.</p><p><br></p><p>David graduated from Atascadero High School where he was his class president and Valedictorian. He had a distinguished career with the US Forest Service retiring as a Law Enforcement Officer after over 30 years of honorable service.</p><p><br></p><p>David was a hero and idol to many because of his exemplary character and integrity. He positively impacted and influenced so many over his lifetime. David overcame tremendous adversity as a child, and lived a life that served as a shining example of how to conduct oneself as an honest, caring, and loving human being. He will always be remembered for his world class sense of humor, genuine personality, and selflessness.</p><p><br></p><p>David had a passion for hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with those he loved.</p><p><br></p><p>David’s family is planning a Celebration of Life to take place in Spring 2023. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Partner’s in Care.</p><p><br></p>
