Thomas Kent Jackson

<p>Thomas Kent Jackson, 78, of Newalla, Oklahoma, passed from this life on September 24, 2022. Thomas was born in Richmond, Indiana, on September 17, 1944, to Harry Dale Jackson and Fannie T. (Hall) Jackson.</p><p><br></p><p>Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a boilerman. He served from October 31, 1962, to January 13, 1971, which included four tours in Vietnam. He married Barbara Crowder on July 24, 2000, in Pampa, Texas. Thomas loved his family. He loved to play a good game of dominos or watch a movie and eat popcorn with the kids and grandkids. He especially enjoyed family gatherings. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 274 in Little Axe, OK, where he served as the post commander and he also served as the 5B District Commander. He loved working around the home place and raising his animals. He also enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles.</p><p><br></p><p>Rev. Thomas Jackson had a true passion for sharing the word of the Lord. His walk with the Lord started long before the 1990’s with preaching, teaching and schooling God’s word. He visited jails and prisons to proclaim “how great the I AM is”. He would testify to the inmates what the Lord had done for him and what He could do for them. Because Thomas’ love for the Lord was so strong, he incorporated the “Second Chance Ministry” into his life on August 1, 1997. He received his Certificate of Ordination from the International Pentecostal Holiness Church on June 16, 2000.</p><p><br></p><p>Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sons, Anthony and Steven.</p><p><br></p><p>Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; 6 children and 3 stepchildren; 11 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.</p><p><br></p><p>A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm October 20, 2022, at Reydon Community Church, 2nd &amp; Pampa St., Reydon, OK 73660, with Alberta Helton officiating.</p><p><br></p><p>A graveside service in the Oklahoma City area is pending at this time.</p>
