Carl Daniel Scott Obituary

Carl Daniel Scott, 74, passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at his residence.


Carl was born on March 11, 1948 to Stanton and Anna Mae (Hutchinson) Scott in Columbus, Ohio. He was educated in the Columbus Public School system, graduating from Central High School in 1967.


He enlisted in the army in 1969. He fought in the Vietnam War, earning a Purple Heart alongside several other awards, along with an honorable discharge.


On May 23, 1977, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Hattie Mae Neal.


He retired from the now Westar Energy after many years of service.


Carl loved his family, friends, and neighbors. He touched the lives of many and will truly be missed.


He is preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Hattie; sister Yvonne Sheppard; brother Charles Scott; 2 infant siblings; children Angela Owens and Darnell Owens.


Surviving are his twin sister Carolyn Ford, Columbus, Ohio; nieces Beverly (Ray) Davis, Annette (Shawn) Free, Kimberly (Michael) Ford-Davis, all of Columbus, Ohio; children Robert Owens of Missouri, Kansas, Marlena Willingham, Jerry Owens, Horace T. (Rachelle)Owens, Sherry Witcomb all of Topeka, Kansas, Randy (Diane) Owens of Seattle, Washington, and a host of other family and friends.
