Jacqueline Anita Lyles-Grear

<p>A time to be born: Mrs. Jacqueline Anita Lyles-Grear was born on October 30, 1964, to the late James Burrell Lyles Sr. and the late Dora May Lyles in Spartanburg, SC, as their fourth child. </p><p>A time to live: “Jackie” as she was affectionately known, was a proud “military brat” and eventually relocated to Glen Burnie, MD because of her father’s last duty station at Fort Meade, MD. Jackie was a 1981 graduate of Old Mill Senior High School in Glen Burnie, Maryland where she formed lifelong friendships. She was an avid Washington Commanders football team fan and thoroughly enjoyed cooking (especially that mac &amp; cheese), loved entertaining family and friends, growing flowers, and watching old movies. Her favorite color was burgundy, and she enjoyed listening to old-school R &amp; B love songs. She also loved cosmetics and would take time to “glam” herself up. Jackie was the “Rock” of her family and had an uncanny ability to hold everyone and everything together with humor and goodwill. She was a doting and proud grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren who were the highlight of her day. Jackie was a devoted caregiver to her mother for many years; we know they are now cracking each other up with their inside jokes. </p><p>A time to love: She leaves cherished and loving memories to her loving and dedicated husband, John Grear. </p><p>A time to mourn: On the morning of Monday,&nbsp;October 3, 2022, Jackie passed away peacefully at her home to be with her Lord and Savior. Her loving, kind, and generous spirit will surely be missed. We will continue her legacy of love and family. She was preceded in death by her stepson, Alfonzo Grear. </p><p>In addition to her husband she leaves to mourn her pride and joy, daughter, Amelia Turner (Adonis Alston) of Lawrenceville, GA; step children Portia Grear of Landover, MD, and &nbsp;Sheniece Lewis of NC; grandchildren, Bianca Turner, Tyler Turner, Izabella Turner, Austin Udemba and Gabriel Alston; sisters, Debra Lyles of Laurel, MD, Candance Lyles (Mark Davis) of Washington, DC, and Jeannette (Rick) Ntoni of&nbsp; Raleigh, NC; brothers, Burrell Lyles of Buford, GA and Stephan Lyles of&nbsp; Upper Marlboro, MD; half-brothers, Anthony (Joyce) Mabry of Spartanburg, SC and the late Lucius, (Elaine) Mabry of Belmar, NJ; in-laws, Richard and Jackie Timmons of Laurel, MD, Toya Grear of Oakland, Calif; niece, Amanda Lyles; nephews, Tevin Phillips and Zion Ntoni; a special cousin, James Splawn of Spartanburg, SC; an aunt, Vennie Splawn of Chesnee SC,; an uncle, Mack Lyles of Spartanburg, SC; best friend, Clara Frazier (Pinky) of College Park, MD; daughter in law, Chiquita Grear; and a host of cousins, extended family and friends. </p><p>&nbsp; </p>
