Jimmy Lane Frederick Obituary

Jimmy Lane Frederick, 85, of Dixon, left this world to be with his Savior in glory on October 3, 2022. His wife, daughter, step-daughter and son-in-law were by his side as he passed.

Jimmy was born on March 2, 1937 in Oak Heights, Kentucky to the late Orthar Vaughn Frederick and Annamae (Watson) Frederick.

First and foremost, Jimmy loved his family. He was an ardent-hard-working family provider who retired from Alcoa after 32 years. He served as a United States Marine in Okinawa Japan and was an active member of the American Legion Austin Collins Post 243. He took pride in his community by serving them as the Park Board Chairman, City Council Member, Mayor, County Magistrate and the Webster County Water Board where he was instrumental in getting county water to rural residents. Jimmy also loved his church. He was active both before and after becoming a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharist Minister. Jimmy loved the outdoors and in earlier years was an avid fisherman, hunter and animal lover. In his later years he enjoyed playing cards at the Legion.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Carroll Frederick.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years Linda Frederick; two children Sandy Travis, Valerie Newell (David) all of Dixon; one sister Sandra Townsend of Mt. Juliet, TN; one brother Ronnie Frederick (Karen) of Dixon; four grandchildren Nicole Scheer, Selena Johnson, Travis Humphrey, Alisha Martin; 10 great-grandchildren Fawn, Flint, Forrest Watson, Fletcher, Naomi, Carson, Reece, Sadie, Roland, Elsie; several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM Friday October 7, 2022 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Sebree with Father Carmello Jimenez officiating.

Visitation will be Friday 11:00 AM until service time at St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery with military rites conducted by the American Legion Worsham Post 40 Honor Guard.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Michael’s Catholic Church, PO Box 705 Sebree, KY 42455.
