SPENCER- There is always another Spring"   Sarah E. (Brennan) Smith, 79, of Spencer, passed away October 3,2022 at home surrounded by her loving family.  

She was the daughter of William F. and Sarah E. (Adams) Brennan.  She leaves her devoted husband  of 54 years, Cameron, with whom she enjoyed many adventure; 2 daughters Tracey A. and her husband Jeffrey Giacomelli and Tara C. Smith.  

Sarah was a graduate of North Brookfield High School, going on to college at Stockbridge, where she earned her degree in Animal Science. She worked for several years as a histologist at Mason Research Institute in Worcester, then became General Manager of Spencer Decorating Company and also managed rental properties, all while raising her daughters on a small farm with a great variety of animals.  

She was a loving and gentle person, who grew up on dairy farm in Oakham and loved music and all things in nature, especially horses, gardening, bird watching and her beloved dogs. Though she greatly enjoyed traveling to new places with her husband, family, and friends, she was always happiest at home.

Services will be held privately by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Spencer EMS or the Second Chance Animal Shelter.  The family gratefully acknowledges all the help and support from the staff at both Enhabit Home Care and Overlook Hospice. Arrangements are under the care of Pillsbury Funeral Home 163 Main St. Spencer.
