<p>A dedicated dad and fierce protector, loving grandfather, caring brother and dear friend, Michael L. Mello, 69, of Providence, passed away peacefully at Miriam Hospital, on September 23 rd , 2022,</p><p>surrounded by his loving family. A cherished son of Marie Cacieri he was born January 3 rd , 1953, he is</p><p>survived by his devoted daughter Meghan Mello of Providence. His loving sisters, Barbara Dion of</p><p>Cumberland, Carol Zangrilli of N. Providence, Joan Bisson of Warwick and Lorraine Rossi of Providence.He is also survived by his beloved granddaughter, Hayley Tucci Mello and his grandson Luciano Zenteno.</p><p><br></p><p>A single dad, hardworking man, he dedicated his life to raising his daughter. Mike was a smart an</p><p>outgoing family man raised in Providence in a large loving family. He graduated Johnson &amp; Wales</p><p>Culinary Institute and was a Chef by profession and worked at some of the more popular restaurants on</p><p>Federal Hill and elsewhere before becoming ill. Mike was also in the taxi business where he also excelled because of his because of his great personality, intelligence and interest in people.</p><p><br></p><p>He was a great dad, an avid Patriots fan, a great chef known for his “huge meatballs” amongst so many other fantastic recipes that he would take pride in preparing and presenting to family and friends. Holidays were a special culinary feast of themselves. A beloved father who always encouraged others to do their best, who will live on in us forever. Rest in Peace, until we meet again.</p><p><br></p><p>Services for Michael will be private.</p>
