Anthony Craig Enlow

Dr. Anthony Craig Enlow, 60, went home to be with the Lord, November 21, at his home in Danville, Ky. with his family at his side. Craig, known to many as 'Doc,' is survived by his wife of 34 years, Karen, his three sons, Tyler (Brittany), Durham, N. C., Jeremy (Sarah), Lexington, Ky. and Jacob, Lexington, Ky., sisters Donna (Terry) Rock and Ada (Larry) Christy, brother Darryl (Mary) Enlow, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.V. and Nancye Enlow, brother Larry Collins, and sister Nancye Gallant. He was born and raised in Hodgenville, Ky. Craig was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, where he met his future wife, Karen, before entering the College of Medicine at the University of Kentucky. Craig served four years as a Captain in the U. S. Army in Emergency Medicine at Fort Stewart, Hinesville, Ga. He completed his residency in Family Practice at Anderson Memorial Hospital, in Anderson, S.C. Craig practiced Family Medicine in Danville for 24 years, and also served as the Medical Director of the Boyle County EMS. Craig loved the Lord, his family and his work. He played football at Eastern Kentucky University, and was an avid supporter of the UK Wildcats and the Boyle County Rebels. He enjoyed coaching, watching his sons play sports, and model railroading. His passion was feeding the hungry. Funeral service will be 1 PM Wednesday November 25, 2015 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Scott Bugg officiating. Visitation 3-8 PM Tuesday November 24, 2015. Visitation also on Wednesday from 11 AM until time of service. A private burial will be held at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville KY Pallbearers are Tyler Enlow, Jeremy Enlow, Jacob Enlow, Darryl Enlow, Terry Rock, Jeff Weis, Doug Weis, and Dr. Mohammad Shahzad. The family wishes to thank the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center, the staff and doctors at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, the staff of Enlow and Shahzad, and all of his many friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heritage Hospice in Boyle County, www.heritagehospice.com, and the Salvation Army Angel Tree.
