Gwendolyn McGill Kingstree, South Carolina Obituary

Gwendolyn McGill

God saw the road was getting rough, And the hills were hard to climb, So he closed your weary eyes, and whispered, “Peace be thine.” Gwendolyn (Gwen) Francina McGill, was the daughter of the late Mrs. Lottie McGill Rious and the late Mr. Wilbert Green. Gwen was born on November 22, 1958. Gwendolyn received her education in South Carolina. She was employed for many years with 360 Cleaning Co., in North Charleston, SC. Gwen applied her traits and abilities in her daily life to complete work and to relate to others. There is no doubt that is around the home that all the greatest virtues are maintained and strengthened within the family unit. Gwen loved and provided the support that sustained her family and friends. Those remaining to share the sweet memories of Gwen are her loving and devoted children; Shanetta (Ian) McGill, Michael (Kieacha) Jones and Rashaam (Akriesha) McGill all of Summerville, SC and Duane (Latoyal) McGill of Landover, MD.; Gwen adored her nine grandchildren, Duane Jr., Ian Jr., Demari, Essence, Dezire, Camren, Damani, Destiny, Nyomi, Troy and Rashaed. Gwen had one grandchild that preceded her in death, “Javelle.” Mr. Anthony Riley was loyal and provided support to Gwen for many years. To forever cherish the memory of their sister, Mr Curtis (Diane) McGill, College Park, MD, and Mr. Kevin McGill of Silver Springs, MD, Ms. Jackie McGill, Shirley Rious and Ms. Diana Rious all of Lane, SC, Mrs. Lorraine Soule of Troy, NY, Annette Montgomery of Greenville, SC, and Debra (Ollie) Rivers of College Park, NY; Gwen loving aunts, Mrs. Deborah (Robert) Burgess and Mrs. Cynthia both of Lane, SC, Florence Smalls of Summerville, SC, Mrs. Nora Benbow of Manning, SC and Bishop Victoria Felder of Kings Mountain, NC; Gwen loving uncles, Mr. Herman (Ruth) Green of Tampa FL, Mr. Allen Keels of Lane, SC, Mr. Marion McGill Jr. of NY, Mr. James (Cynthia) McGill of Washington, DC and Mr. Harry McGill of Arizona, AZ.
