Robert Kent Richard, age 45, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2014. Born February 7, 1969 in Camp Hill, he was the son of the late Taylor E. and Virginia N. (Kovalek) Richard. Robert was a graduate of Penn State University and was currently pursuing his Doctorate in Business Administration. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and had followed his Air Force service as a member of the National Guard. He was the CEO of OrionProtected and was extremely proud of Orion, a disaster response system which he designed. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and was an active and endlessly dedicated member and financial officer for the Dillsburg American Legion Post 26. In his free time, he enjoyed playing guitar and getting away to go kayaking. Surviving are his children, Raelle, Ryan, and Ridge Richard; his former wife, Rochelle Richard; his fiance, Stacey Thomas and her children, Kayla, Rysa, and Devyn; as well as his in-laws, Hank and Lois Tait. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, September 26 at Aldersgate Church, 1480 Jerusalem Road, Mechanicsburg. Burial with military honors will take place in Dillsburg Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, September 25 at Malpezzi Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg.
