<p>Utica, NY - Mrs. Geraldine “Gerry” (Lofaro) Bello, 88, passed away, Monday, September 26, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center of MVHS. </p><p>She was born in Utica, NY, September 22, 1934, a daughter of the late Rocco and Josephine (Sangiacomo) Lofaro. Gerry was raised and educated in local schools, graduating from T. R. Proctor High School. On June 9, 1956, in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, in Utica, Gerry was married to Michael A. Bello. The couple shared in a union blessed with over sixty-one years of marriage prior to Mr. Bello’s passing on May 11, 2018. Mrs. Bello retired from the Teamsters Local 182, in Utica, after many years of loyal service.</p><p> At one time, Gerry was a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge, in Utica and Boca Raton; the Whitestown American Legion Post # 1113, Ladies Auxiliary; and served as President of the Board of Directors for the Boca Lakes Community, in Boca Raton, FL. Gerry had a great passion for baseball; she loved the New York Yankees and the Miami Marlins, and attended many Marlins games, and spring training games, while living in Florida. Gerry had a great love for her family and friends. She especially adored and admired her grandsons. She enjoyed traveling, making many fond memories while on vacation. She was especially fond of the many cruises she took with her husband Mike. Her favorite times were spent with her family, baking and cooking for every occasion.</p><p>Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Michele and Roberto Fonzi of Las Vegas, NV, and Laurie and Roger Klein, Jr. of Herkimer; grandsons, Nico Fonzi of Las Vegas, Roger Klein, III, and Ross Michael Klein, both of Herkimer; her great grand puppy, Remington; three sisters, Theresa Suppa and Lucille LaVine, both of Utica, and Joann Trotta of Basin, MT; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Maryann and Ralph Froio of Whitesboro; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and many special friends, including, Bea Esposito, Tessie Collico, and her “gal pals” from Boca Lakes in Florida. She was preceded in death by her in-laws, Salvatore Suppa, Tony Trotta, and Cosmo and Julie Bello.</p><p>In keeping with Mrs. Bello’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial, Monday morning, October 3, 2022, at 11:00 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish, in Utica. Entombment will take place in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Adrean Funeral Service, Inc., Utica, NY.</p><p><br></p>

She was born in Utica, NY, September 22, 1934, a daughter of the late Rocco and Josephine (Sangiacomo) Lofaro. Gerry was raised and educated in local schools, graduating from T. R.
