Raymond Wendell Yeager, age 82 years, a resident of Coalton, WV, passed away on Tuesday morning, September 27, 2022 at the West Virginia Caring Hospice Center at Elkins, WV.

He was born Friday, August 23, 1940 at Kingsville, WV, a son of the late Granville C. Yeager and Lillie Goff Yeager. He was formerly married to JoAnn DeMotto Yeager, who survives.

Also surviving are his two children, one daughter, Pamela Lynn Yeager and one son, Raymond Wendell “Ramie” Yeager, II, and Kevin Madden, whom he thought of as a son; five grandchildren, Eric C. George and Casey N. George, Nathan Yeager, Zachary Yeager, Deena Yeager Schonk; three great grandchildren, Tristan Schonk, and Teagan Schonk and Lincoln James George; one sister Eleanor Yeager Delp.

Preceding him in death besides his parents are one son, Gregory Allen “Greg” Yeager; five sisters, Urie Yeager Huber, Hilda Yeager Lincoln, Mary Virginia Yeager, Eleanor Delp and Frances Dahl; four brothers, Eugene Yeager, Graydon Yeager, Herman Yeager and Joe Yeager.

Raymond retired from the WV Dept. of Highways, as Superintendent of Highways. Raymond was also the owner of R.W. Yeager Trucking for many years. Raymond loved to farm and hunt and attend the Yeager family reunion of the fourth of July in Elkins, WV. Most of all Raymond loved his family.

Mr. Yeager’s request for cremation was honored. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Saint Patrick's Catholic Church at Coalton on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 11 AM, with the Rev. Mr. Raymond Godwin officiating.
