<p>George Dean Shockey, age 69 passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022 at his Home surrounded by his family.</p><p><br></p><p>Preceded in death by his parents A.D. Dewey and Hazel Shockey; brothers, A.D. “Wayne” Shockey and Alan Dale Shockey; sister Debra Brown.</p><p><br></p><p>Survived by his wife of 50 years Carolyn Shockey; children George Sidney (Ella) Shockey, Charlotte (Steve) Recher, and Jonathan Hugh Shockey; grandchildren Deanna Marie (Weston Lee) Karl, Julia Abbigail Recher, Ethan Craig Recher, Anna Marie Schutt and Billy Christopher Schutt; great grandchild Maverick Lee Karl; sisters Dixie Pearl (Frank) Boggess and Donna Baker; brother Danny Walter (Brenda) Shockey.</p><p><br></p><p>Mr. Shockey retired for truck driving after 35 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on cars. His favorite hobby was doing woodworking in his shop. But most of all he loved being with his family especially his grandchildren and his one great grandchild.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitation with the family will be 2:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Brother Trey Gambill Officiation. Interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.</p><p><br></p>
