Everyone who knew him knew that cars were his life.

Slaughter, his brother-in-law, Neal Carter and his nephew-in-law Brian Miller.  He is survived by his two sons, Wade Slaughter of Dover and Paul Slaughter of Florida; his sister, Terri Carter of Dover;  a brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Brooke Slaughter of Florida. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Kim Kilby and her husband Steve of Milton; Kris King and her husband Bill and their children Matt and Nick Miller all of Dover; Rhys Slaughter and his wife Kelly and their children, Gray, Leo, and Halle all of Florida; Breck Slaughter of Florida.

Throughout our lives we find that God gives us other people to provide support and compassion and help us along the way.  That has truly been the case for Chip this past year and a half.  So we extend a deep and heartfelt thank you to some very special people. Dan Truesdale and James Paige, you kept Chip’s business open and running the entire time he was ill and it meant the world to him. Thank you to Willis Chevrolet, Smyrna and John Pisacano for all the help over the years. Terry Burchenal, you spent hours talking with Chip about cars and life  and people for many years and have indeed been a special friend. Doris and Harry Walton, thank you for watching over Chip the first year that he became ill. Linda Cobbs who made a home for his beloved black lab, Cricket. You will never know the comfort that provided for him. Joe and Annette O’Brien who made weekly visits with their sweet dog and lots of treats for Chip each time they walked through the door. It meant so very much to have special friends you can count on. Thank you to his special caregiver, Debbie Wood, who made each day a little easier for both of us.  The Delaware Hospices nurses that cared for him always had a sweet smile and he loved them all. Dr. Sanjeev Patel and staff for their support. Thank you each and every person that touched his life, it was so appreciated and will be remembered always.”

At Chip’s request there will be no services.
