Donna Beatrice Doty
<p>BRANDON: </p><p> </p><p>Donna Beatrice Doty, age 84, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022, at her sons’ home in Brandon. </p><p> </p><p>Donna was born in Middlebury on June 6, 1938. She was the daughter of Howard A. and Beatrice (Kirby) Foster. She grew up on the family farm in Salisbury. She received her early education in Salisbury schools and graduated from Middlebury High School, class of 1956. She earned her degree from Becker Junior College in Worcester, A. Following college graduation, she began her working career with The Pentagon in Arlington, VA. She returned to Vermont where she married Art Doty on December 23, 1958. She and her late husband owned and operated the Credit Bureau of Rutland for over 30 years. Following their retirement they enjoyed traveling, from Nova Scotia to Florida for several years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Middlebury, where she was very active in church affairs. In addition to traveling, she enjoyed antiquating, auctions, cooking and baking and was an avid stamp and Beanie Baby collector. </p><p> </p><p>She is survived by her son; Paul Doty & his wife Jacqueline of Brandon and their children; Nathan Doty & his companion; Shannon Cookson, and Emily Doty & her companion; Christian Leggett, and a daughter; Susan Marie Hinton of St. Johnsbury and her children; Michael Alger, Christopher Alger and William Marcoux; great grandchildren; Benjamin Alger and Kiersten Alger, and special family friends; Elizabeth and Samantha, a nephew; David Dewey and his family. She was predeceased by her husband; Art Doty on July 2, 2019 and two sisters; Reta Andrews and Leta Dewey. </p><p> </p><p>The memorial service “In Celebration of Her Life” will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 10:30 AM, at the United Methodist Church in Middlebury. </p><p> </p><p>Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in her memory to; Brandon Senior Citizens, P.O.
