Barbara Ann Milligan

Barbara Ann Milligan, 89, of El Dorado, Kansas, formerly of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday September 20, 2022 at her home in Kansas. 

Services will be 11:00am Wednesday September 28, 2022 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00am until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenview Cemetery, East Moline, Illinois. Memorials may be left to Friendship Manor or Milan Christian Church. 

Barbara was born on October 13, 1932 in Davenport, the daughter of James and Ileene (Whitman) Gray. She married Henry Whitfield on December 7, 1950 in Jacksonville, Arkansas. She later married Gordon Milligan on September 19, 1995 in Rock Island. 

She was a retired licensed practical nurse, working at local hospitals and mental health facilities. 

Barbara had been a member of Milan Christian Church. She loved spending time with her family, drawing, painting, cross word puzzles and reading.  

Survivors include her children and spouses, Michael (Jocelyn) Whitfield, Desert Hot Springs, Calif., Mark Whitfield, Bettendorf, Iowa, Susan (Michael) Shepperd, El Dorado, Kansas, Douglas (Carol) Whitfield, Marysville, Washington, Kathy Milligan, Moline, Peggy (Harold) Tobin, Milan, Bill (Theresa) Milligan, Fort Morgan, Colorado; 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother James, husbands and granddaughter, Kaitlin.
