Shawn R. Whaley

<p>Shawn R. Whaley, age 51, passed away due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in San Jose, California on September 8, 2022. Shawn was born in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital on November 6, 1970, grew up in Laurel and graduated from Laurel High School in 1988 and later from Delaware Technical and Community College. Shawn's career was in the medical field and his most recent position was as the Lead Cardiovascular Radiology Tech in the Cath Lab at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, California. Shawn's employer described him as a master of his craft and that he brought to his work a willingness to learn and innovate that garnered respect from patients and physicians. Shawn loved golf, cycling and surfing but most of all he dearly loved his family. He attended Echo Church in Sunnyvale, California.</p><p><br></p><p>Shawn is survived by his parents, Bobby and Kathy Whaley, and his sisters Stephanie (Rick), Stacie (Larry) and Shannon (Roger). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, George and Eleanor Whaley and an infant sister, Sherrie.</p><p><br></p><p>A celebration of life will be held at Crossroad Community Church, 20684 State Forest Road, Georgetown, Delaware 19947, on Sunday, September 25th, 2022 at 3:00pm.
