Sherry Louise Koons-Brewer

<p>Sherry McConnell Brewer was 70 years old when she went on to be with the Lord in her home in Newalla, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family. Leaving behind her Husband Donald J. Brewer, Daughter Christy Dawn Battenfield &amp; husband Kevin Battenfield, Son Clinton Lloyd Koons, Daughter Mary Beth Brewer and Son Benjamin Joe Brewer.</p><p><br></p><p>Sherry was born to James and Louise McConnell on February 18th, 1953, on The Fort Hood Army Base in Texas. She grew up and graduated High School at Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in May 1971. In June After high school, she married Denny Koons and soon after had her first daughter Christy Dawn, then first son Clinton Lloyd followed. Sherry belonged to Fishing clubs and was into all kinds of outdoor sporting activities. Sherry helped to start a women’s Bass fishing club called Oklahoma Lady Anglers. We have heard many stories of how during the summers, Sherry would take the kids, including friends and neighborhood children skiing, swimming, and fishing. She was known as the “Mom that everybody wanted” because she was so fun. One of her favorite things to do was simply spending time at the creek. Sherry also was a loving caregiver. She was always helping anyone in need. She cared for many elderly people when they were homebound. If anyone ever needed a place to stay, Sherry consistently and graciously helped. She did not always have a lot of money, but if someone was in need, she would give her last penny to help them. She went to college at Connors State for nursing. Instead of pursuing that career she chose to stay home and care for her newly adopted child that needed extensive care as an infant. She adopted two children after she had finished raising her own. </p><p><br></p><p>Later she met Donny Brewer, while with Donny they adopted Ben and Beth. All three have loved &amp; cared greatly and provided so much for Sherry in her later days. </p><p><br></p><p>Sherry was all American, very Patriotic and loved music of all kinds. She was a fantastic cook and could make a meal out of anything, but her specialty was fried Crappie. She also loved the Lord with all of her heart and soul. She continually without fail prayed for everyone in her family daily and anyone she knew in need. She was the glue that held her family together.</p><p><br></p><p>Sherry was preceded in death by her mother Louise McConnell, her paternal grandparents Les and Virginia McConnell and her maternal grandparents Ed and Daisy Twist.</p><p><br></p><p>Sherry is survived by her Father James McConnell, Sisters Paula Sue Stice, Angela Gay Reed and her husband Mike. Her Children Christy Dawn Battenfield and her husband Kevin, Clinton Lloyd Koons, Mary Beth Brewer and Benjamin Joe Brewer. Her Grand Children Molly Bennett, Emily Sturgeon and her husband Eli, Skyler Koons, Braxton Koons, Brayden Koons, Lindsey Battenfield and JohnDavid Battenfield and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, great great nephews and many other Children and Adults in her life throughout the years.</p><p><br></p><p>A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the: </p><p>The Wagoner Church Of God Of Prophecy</p><p>1501 NE 2nd St.</p><p>Wagoner Oklahoma 74467</p>
