Robert A. Spear

<p>SPEAR, Robert (Bobby) A. Jr., age 57, a lifetime Oakland resident, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022. He was born in Paterson, NJ to Robert A. Spear Sr. and Joan M. (Snuska) Spear. Robert met his wife, Sharon, through her sister and friends, and they were married in 1999. They enjoyed nearly 23 years of devoted marriage. </p><p><br></p><p>Robert dreamed big and lived life by his own rulebook. He was never afraid to be himself and marched to the beat of his own drum. Bobby had many passions in life. He had a deep appreciation for Harley Davidson motorcycles, collectible guns, and cars, especially his 1990 Mustang. He took exceptional pride in his extensive coin collection, and he loved watching his favorite sports teams, the New Jersey Devils and New York Yankees. Some of Bobby’s favorite places to visit were the Jersey Shore, Disney World, and Daytona Beach.</p><p><br></p><p>Bobby is survived by his wife Sharon A. Spear (nee Cooper) of Oakland, his son Fletcher R. Spear, and his step-son Chaz Werba and his wife Jess. Beloved son to Robert A. Spear, Sr. and was predeceased by his mother Joan. Loving brother to Susan Borst and her husband Joey, and Pam Zamfir. Beloved uncle of Allie and her husband Dan and Beatrice Zamfir; Erick and Dietrich Borst and his wife Sydney. Loving nephew to Stephen and Tommy Snuska, and brother-in-law to Lisa DuMont and John Cooper. Lifelong, loyal friend of Frank and Laurie Vespoli, Terry and Cathy O’Rourke, John Pross, and John and Darlene Vandercliff. Bobby loved and cherished his family, and he and his laughter will be sorely missed by all those that knew and loved him. Robert and his family were parishioners of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Oakland. </p><p><br></p><p>Family and friends may visit the Spear family on Friday, September 23, 2022, from 6 – 9 PM at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ 07417. Funeral service to be held Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert’s memory to Kessler Rehabilitation Institute (https://kesslerfoundation.org/) or the American Stroke Association (https://www.stroke.org/en/?form=FUNCNKRYYTR).</p>
