Mandy

Amanda Louise Mercer, better known by Mandy passed away September 13th 2022 at Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado. Mandy was born May 31st 1981 to Arthur W. Mears, known as Tony and Wendy M. Mears (Sorensen).

Throughout her school years Mandy was active in 4-H and always had a passion for agriculture. She graduated from Desiderata High School in 1998 and went on to be an accomplished student at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling. She earned her degree in Equine Business Management and Training, graduating with honors in 2001.

Mandy had the unique ability to build strong connections with everyone she met in her life. From her job at the Weld County Sherriff’s Office, The Fence Post Magazine and the Rush Truck Center, Mandy was a stranger to no one. Her most fulfilling career however came with the accomplishment of starting her own dairy, aptly named Living the Cream. It was with this dairy she was able to share her love of agriculture with her husband, children, family and friends. She took exceptional care of her animals and was always willing to help those around her.

On any given day you could usually find Mandy with some sort of animal or child under her arm. She loved healing the unwell or just being there for the ones she loved. She was one of the toughest people you could possibly imagine yet still within her was the kindest soul. On the farm she could work circles around just about anyone, keeping a smile on her face and a ration of grief on the tip of her her tongue just because she could. Mandy's tenacious combination of work ethic and plucky demeanor were a wonder in and of itself. Even when she wasn't feeling well, she would still put everyone else first. In the years prior Mandy fought a long battle with stage 3 breast cancer. In that 5 years and beyond she has been an inspiration to the many who face their own struggle.

Mandy was a cornerstone in her family. Her love for her husband and children was unparalleled. She was heavily involved in every aspect of her family, supporting as she always does. She was a woman of answers when those around her had questions. She had more talents than could possibly be listed, though one she always enjoyed showing off was her ability to back in and navigate her trailers. One thing for certain is that she will never be forgotten by those who knew her.

Mandy is survived by her husband, Warren Mercer, son Ryker Michael(8), daughter Breyer Marie(6), mother and step father Wendy and Steve Fisbeck, sister Jennifer Paul, nephew Leland Paul and many heartbroken friends and family alike. I’ve no doubt she’s received a warm welcome from her dad Tony, grandparents Bonnie, Harold, Rita and Arthur as well as longtime family friend Myke in heaven.

She leaves a big void in our hearts and she will be missed more than words will ever say. She's at peace now and I hope she knows that the impression she left here with all of us will never fade away. She's changed all of us in some way and we’re blessed to have had her in our lives.
