Robert W. Boyer, 84, of Reading passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022 at Reading Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Bob was the loving husband to Carol Ann (Haddock) for over 33 years before her passing on December 3, 1993. Born in Reading, Bob was the son of the late William Boyer and Elsie (Widenhammer). Bob was a graduate of Reading High School, and went on to work as the Head of Research and Development for Polymer Technology Corp. After his retirement, he helped greet customers and answer phones at the Bellevue Gem & Rock Shop for sixteen years. Bob was an active member of Alsace Lutheran Church. He loved traveling and spending time with his friends and family. He was always active and during his younger years, he enjoyed skiing, boating, horseback riding, and volunteering at Lazy H Therapeutic Riding Academy. 

Surviving Bob are his grandchildren, Megan C. Fegely, wife of Brett, of West Lawn, Barry Huey, husband of Lynae, of Temple, Crysten Campbell, wife of Brian Thomason, of Wyomissing, Brittany Sustala, wife of Jeremy, of New Braunfels, Texas, and Brianne Huey, loving companion of Justin Rentschler, of Reading, as well as his 9 great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Carol, Bob was predeceased by his son, Curt William Boyer, and daughter, Beth Ann Huey.

A celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Bean Funeral Home, 1605 Rockland Street, Reading. Pastor Richard Nelson to officiate. The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Home, Reading from 9:30 AM to 11:00AM. Inurnment will be held privately by the family at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
