Janet Marie Becker, 81, of Port Washington, died peacefully on September 16, 2022, surrounded by her family.

She was born on October 13, 1940 in Port Washington, to John and Barbara (Prom) Karrels. Janet, the youngest of 7 children, grew up on her family’s farm on Highway LL in Port Washington.

After graduating from Port Washington, High School, Janet married Peter F. Becker of Port Washington on May 13, 1961 and they lived on his family farm on Highway LL in Port Washington where she raised 5 children. Janet enjoyed bowling, feeding the neighbor kids, planting flowers, the Green Bay Packers, and going on occasional gambling trips.

After high school she worked at Power Products in Grafton. She then stayed home to raise her family, and returned to work at Mary Janes candy store in Cedarburg and Pick N Save in Saukville.

She is survived by her brother Franklin (Annebelle) Karrels of Port Washington and her 5 children Peter (Stacy) Becker of Port Washington, Gerald Becker of Port Washington, Karen (Bob) Snook Fort Worth, TX, Lu Ann (Tim) Burmesch of Belgium and Tom (Jenny) Becker of Fredonia. She is further survived by 11 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents John and Barbara, siblings Wilfred Karrels, Oliver Karrels, LeRoy Karrels, Adeline Bolz and Lorraine Weyker.

A private ceremony with family will be held at a later date.
