New Hartford, NY, Kevin P. “Giehly” Giehl, Jr. 28, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at his home.

Kevin was born in New Hartford, NY, January 1, 1994 where he was raised and educated, graduating from New Hartford High School in 2013.

An avid gamer, Kevin was also a fan of the New York Jets, the Philadelphia Flyers, and the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed listening to music, especially Lil Peep, and was especially proud of his tattoos. Kevin had a great love for his family; his mom was, and will always be, his best friend, and his favorite times were spent enjoying his family and the time they shared together.

Surviving are his mother, Bernadette (Saporito) Todd and her husband, Kevin Todd of New Hartford; his father, Kevin P. Giehl, Sr. of Utica; brother, Matthew Giehl of New Hartford; two step-sisters, Sydney and Jensen Todd both of New Hartford; maternal grandmother, Teresa Saporito of New York Mills; paternal grandfather, Vincent Speciale of Utica; step-grandmother, Elizabeth Melnyk of Winnipeg, Manitoba; aunts and uncles, Nicole Romeo and Dominick Puleo of New Hartford, Nicholas Romeo of Utica, Philip “PJ” and Deana “Dee” Saporito of Marcy, Kim Giehl VanEtten of Utica, Tiffany and Brian Masserey of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Ryan and Jen Todd of Calgary, Alberta; great aunts and great uncles, including, Frances and Robert Fuller, Sandra Sangiacomo, and Mary Beth and Donald Lotoski; and also many special cousins and friends, including, Nino, Joe, and Willie. He is also survived by his feline companion, Numbnuts. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Philip A. Saporito; paternal grandmother, Donna Speciale; great grandparents, Frank and Caroline Seminaro, and Dominick and Angeline Saporito; and a great uncle, Jimmy Sangiacomo.

In keeping with Kevin’s wishes there will be no public visitation. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at St. Mary of Mount Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. The family will receive visitors in church at the conclusion of services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Adrean Funeral Service, Inc.
