Mrs. Lydia Brickles Littleton, age 87, of Vanceburg, Kentucky, passed away Thursday afternoon, December 10, 2015, at SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born February 18, 1928, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Joseph and Ida Sammons Brickles. Lydia was of the Christian faith and a homemaker. She loved feeding the birds, taking care of her cats, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William Tom Littleton; two children, Linda Carroll and an infant; two grandchildren, James Carroll and Kimberly Elliott; four brothers, Gilbert 'Gig' Brickles and three infants; and two sisters, Roberta Stevens and Jill Lowe. Lydia is survived by six sons, Ralph 'Tootsie' Littleton of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Avery Littleton of Vanceburg, Kentucky, William Richard Littleton of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Kenneth 'Marty' Littleton of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Charles Homer Littleton of Laurel, Indiana, and Bobby Ray Littleton of Vanceburg, Kentucky; 26 grandchildren; several great and great, great grandchildren; one brother, Floyd Brickles of Vanceburg, Kentucky; and one sister, Betty Smith of Morehead, Kentucky. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, December 13, 2015, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Hansel Butler officiating. Burial will follow in the Stamper Cemetery on State Route 1662 in Lewis County, Kentucky. Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2015, and until the service hour on Sunday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164. Lydia's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
