From an early age, Rob showed a talent for various sports. He excelled at bowling at Rab's Bowling on the Green. He also played in both East and South Shore little leagues, basketball, and his true passion, football. Robert began playing peewee football at the age of eight and continued through high school, playing for both Saint Peter's and New Dorp.

Following in his father's footsteps, Rob joined the union Local 731 and worked on large building projects across all five boroughs. His hard work and dedication to his craft were evident in the projects he completed and the colleagues who admired him.

Rob's interests extended beyond sports and work. Known as a "Class Clown" in his youth, he grew into the life of the party, always dancing and singing among his many beloved cousins and friends. Witty, with a quick joke to make someone smile, Rob was a peacemaker among family squabbles and could quote many movie classics and lyrics from various music genres. He loved his family, playing cards, going to Atlantic City, and watching football games.

Those who knew Rob will remember him as funny, thoughtful, and passionate. He had an infectious energy that could light up a room and make everyone feel welcome. His love for his family and friends was evident in the time and effort he put into maintaining close relationships, and he will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Rob is survived by his mother, Kim Compton; his sister, Jenna Compton-Ricci, and her husband Thomas; his nephews, Thomas, and Michael Ricci; and his daughter, Kayla Compton. He is predeceased by his father, Robert "Bobby" Compton.

Robert E. Compton III's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. May he rest in peace, knowing that he brought happiness and laughter to those around him and left a lasting impact on the lives he touched.
