Mary Ruth Caldwell, 89, of Berkeley Springs, WV, passed away Monday, September 12, 2022 at her home.

Mary was born August 7, 1933 the daughter of the late James Marvin Estep and Maymie Mason Estep. She married Homer “Jack” Caldwell on February 24, 1953 in Keith, WV. She was a member on Lighthouse Baptist Church, and always invested herself in the Bible, Church, and her family.

Mary is survived by her children, Rev. Howard Caldwell (Debbie) , Marvin “Butch” Caldwell (Melissa), Mary Beth Gabriel (Salvador); grandchildren, Jason Caldwell, Wendy Tangeman, Nicole Honeycutt, Rachel Foust, Becky Shope, Kristy Edwards, Danny Caldwell, Ethan Caldwell, Tabitha Martini, Lacey Gabriel, Malina Sims; great grandchildren, Brooke Caldwell, James Caldwell, Ben Caldwell, Tessa Caldwell, Bailey Edwards, Chase Edwards, Seth Tangeman, Kami Tangeman, Cash Honeycutt, Dixy Honeycutt, Daisey Caldwell, Carter Caldwell, Julia Caldwell, Katelyn Caldwell, Callie Foust, Finley Foust, Jack Shope, Hudson Shope, Maggie Shope, Jordan Caldwell, Lila Caldwell, Felicity Caldwell, Austin Caldwell, Giada Martini, Karmen Gabriel, Jace Gabriel, Isaiah Higgins, Dawson Fortner, Tinley Fortner, Garrit Sims, Oliver Sims; siblings, Margaret Murphy and Gene Estep.

Along with her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Homer “Jack” Caldwell.

The family will receive friends Monday, September 19, 2022 at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester, VA from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. and at Lighthouse Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A funeral service will follow on Tuesday at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mary’s name to the LBA Educational Heritage Trust.
