Virginia Ann Pellegrino Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Virginia Ann Conti Pelligrino on August 12, 2022 in Port St. Lucie, Florida. She was 58 years old.

Virginia, or Ginny as she was known by her childhood friends, was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a native of Bloomfield, New Jersey, where she was a bright light of laughter and love to many. While in New Jersey, Virginia completed nursing school as a single mom and went on to become an amazing nurse for many years at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Patterson, NJ, and later at a group home for disabled adults. She and her sons Joseph and Joshua eventually moved to Stuart, Florida, where she met and married the love of her life, Richard Pelligrino.

In Florida, she continued to influence and inspire others through her passion for nursing as a teacher at Martin County High School. Virginia was much loved by her students and kept in touch with many of them over the years. She was also a talented artist and an avid music lover.

Virginia is predeceased by her parents, Annette Clark DiIorio and Carmine DiIorio. She is survived by her husband, Richard; sons Joseph and Joshua; siblings Ted, Annette and Salina; nieces and nephews Holly, Anna, Barak and Sky; her step children Richard and Lisa; and her grandchildren Zeke, Zadie, James, and the newest addition: granddaughter Adalyn Rose.

Her compassion, laughter and love of all things punny will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Virginia’s life will be held in New Jersey at a later date to be announced for friends and family who could not travel to Florida.
