Dorothy (Hester) Lambert 96, of Windsor, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2022, at St. Mary's Home in West Hartford, CT. Dorothy was born on January 2, 1926, in Oxford, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Jesse (Hargrove) Hester.  She was an avid UCONN Women's basketball team lover and enjoyed gardening, going to the casino, bowling and spending time with her loved ones. She attended Bethel AME Church and spent time with many friends at the Hartford Senior Center. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.

Dorothy graduated from Hartford High School. She worked at G Fox & Co before becoming a telephone operator for Southern New England Telephone (SNET).

She was preceded in death by her late husband Arthur Calvin Lambert, Sr. and her late son, Arthur Calvin Lambert, Jr., siblings, Vivian (Hester) King, Ruth (Hester) Mansfield, Kenneth Hester and Nathaniel Hester. She is survived by her loving children, daughter, Pamela Lobon and husband John Lobon (Bloomfield), sons, Donald Lambert and wife Beverly Lambert (Bloomfield) and Dennis Lambert and wife Linda Lambert (Maryland). A nephew John Barrett (North Carolina). She also leaves behind her grandchildren N’Gai Lobon, Shantee Lambert, NicCole Lambert-Talhaoui, Jason Lambert, Dionne Lambert, Jared Lambert, Ryann Vasso, and Arthur Lambert, III.

Her loving great grandchildren to carry on the journey of the family. Najelena Lobon, Rochelle Lambert, Desiree’ Lambert, Kayleigh Lambert, Niya Talhaoui, Karter Lambert, Nala Talhaoui, Ky’Anna Pryor, Londyn Lambert, Kaleb Lambert, Aaliyah Lambert, Ava Lambert, Willow Pryor and the soon to be arrival of Kai Vasso.  Along with a host of relatives and friends.

Interment will be private.

A Memorial Celebration will be held at a later date
