Bessie Jean Smith
Thus, the Book of Life began for Miss Bessie Jean Smith on December 5, 1947 in Meridian, MS to the Parents of Mr. and Mrs. William and Ollie Mae Smith. A few years later, the Smith Family relocated to Fort Meade, Florida where she continued her Education in the Polk County Schools and was known as a great Basketball and Soft-ball Player. Bessie was employed and retired after 30 years of Service by the Polk County School Board. She came to Christ at an early age and was a longtime member of the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church where she was also a member of the Choir. Preceding her in death are Her life Companion, Mr. Os-car Jim Wesley, Sr.; daughter, Adrian Nicole Wesley Moyer; Parents; siblings, Ernest (Betty Lou) Smith, Alvin Smith, Esther Castro, and David Earl Smith. Those remaining to Remember her Life and Legacy are her sons, Kenneth (Alberta) Sanders Sr., Michael (Nicci) Smith Sr. , Oscar James (Arlalia) Wesley, Jr., Step-son, Kenyatta (Nakesia) Wesley; Step-daughters, Shakerra Campbell and Tamara Wesley; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Karin Washington and Constance Henderson; Brother-in-law, Felix Rodriguez Castro; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins; including the Spinks and Jones, and a few special friends and Classmates.
