Lucille H. "Lucy" Hubbard

<p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Lucille “Lucy” Howard Hubbard, age 85, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022. She was born Saturday, August 28, 1937, to the late Elvin Howard and Ida Mae Baker Banks. She was the widow of the late David “Dee” Hubbard, who she married Saturday, August 10, 1957, and preceded her in death on Tuesday, January 25, 2000. Lucy was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She spent 25 years in the Lincoln County school system as a bus driver, teachers assistant and ended her career as a preschool teacher of 17 years. Lucy enjoyed the fellowship of her women’s Sunday School group. She loved eating out, watching her shows, reading, and crocheting, but most importantly she loved her family dearly. Lucy’s greatest accomplishment was providing a happy life for her two girls while raising them. </p><p>Lucy leaves behind two daughters, Michelle “Shelly” Harris (Boyd) of Stanford and Elizabeth Hubbard of Stanford; two grandchildren, Lucas Harris (Lindsay) and Kristen Zahn (Austin); five great grandchildren, Kate Harris, Lily Harris, Lucy Harris, Abby Harris, and Baby Zahn due in March; two sisters, Annette Brumfield of North Carolina, and Jeanne Goodling (Larry) of Florida; one brother-in-law, Don Williams of Wisconsin;&nbsp;special nieces, Louann Estes, Therese Balistrieri, and Nancy Schroeder; and several other nephews and nieces that mourn her passing. </p><p>In addition to her husband, and parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her stepfather, James R. Banks; one brother, Elvin Howard, Jr. and two sisters, Loretta Williams, and Alene Sullivan. </p><p>A Public Visitation will be held 5-8PM Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Pleasant View Baptist Church. </p><p>The Public Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM Monday, September 12, 2022, at the church. Bro. Kyle Page and Bro. Logan Hazelwood will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Pleasant Point Baptist Church Cemetery. Lucy’s nephews will serve as Active Pallbearers. Boyd Harris, Lucas Harris, Lindsay Harris, Kristen Zahn, and Austin Zahn will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. </p><p>The Funeral Service will be live streamed on Lucy’s tribute page at www.friendfuneralhomes.com. </p><p>Barnett, Demrow &amp; Friend Funeral Home, Waynesburg, is entrusted with Lucy’s arrangements.
