Lonnie Bueker Obituary

Lonnie Raymond Bueker, 68, passed away on September 6, 2022, at 2:32 pm with his family by his side after a valiant battle with lung cancer.

A memorial visitation will be from 10:00 to 12:00 pm on Friday, September 16, 2022, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo, IL. Graveside services will be at 12:30 pm in the Mullen Cemetery, in rural Montrose, IL.

Lonnie is survived by his loving and caring wife of 20 years, Judy Bueker; sister Donna Abbott (Rick Morecraft); children Jim Dearing, Carrie (Junior) Mahnke, Stanley Bueker (Jackie Robinson), Billy Bueker (Melody Gallaher), Angela Tingley and Alissa Vandevender; grandchildren Alexis, Taylor, Caira, Blayne (Hannah), Dylan, Kirsten, Niya, Willow, Amber Lynn, Alexandra, AJ, Allen, AshLee, Myra, Madyson, Mylee, Chalous (Chelsey), Cody, Stormy, Raylee, Justin and Brian; and great-grandchildren Tyson, Carter, Kaden, Mason, Jade, Athena, Khalani, and McKenlee . He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Dorothy Finks and brothers Joe and John Bueker.

Lonnie was born on the family farm in Montrose, IL on March 29, 1954, to William G. and Rea (Lawhorn) Bueker. He married Judy Huckaba on October 29, 1999. Lonnie worked hard most of his life, first with the railroad, Rowe Foundry, Casey Tool and Machine, and Anamet Electrical.

Lonnie had a knack for collecting “useful things” but his favorite was John Deere tractors from toy sized to one of the original tractors bought and used on his family farm. He also loved ford trucks and his Harley Davidson.

Anyone who knew Lonnie well, knew he was not one to get dressed up. In true Lonnie style, the family asks that you wear your best camo, John Deere, Ford, or Harley Davidson shirt/hat to his services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ProMedica Hospice 500 E. Springhill Drive, Suite D Terre Haute, IN 47802 ( hospice, cancer society, bill fund). Online condolences can be expressed at www.barkleyfuneralchapels.com
