Betty Jane Bowers, 93, of Temple, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Berks Heim. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel M. Bowers, who passed away on August 9, 2014.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Colonel and Pearl (Eschbach) Hartman. Betty was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School, Class of 1946. She was the former co-owner and operator of Hartman’s Butcher Shop in Temple, retiring in 1994. Betty was a life member of Zion Spies Lutheran Church in Alsace Township. She served as a Treasurer of the Women’s Missionary Society for 5 years. Betty enjoyed watching the Phillies, attending church and loved flowers. Overall, she loved cats, and had a special bond to her cat Precious.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Diane I. Greenawalt, widow of James, of Naperville, IL.; Beverly A. Heath, of Oley; grandchildren, Megan M. Heath, significant other of, Tito Colon, of Bernville; Amy S. Wolff wife of Daniel, of Chicago, IL.; Andy T. Greenawalt, husband of Kristina, of Dallas, TX.; Heather Heath, of Vista, CA.; and great-grandchildren, Victor Colon Jr.; Xander Colon; Chip Greenawalt; and Rosie Greenawalt.

She was predeceased by her great grandson Xavier E. Colon, who passed away in 2006.
