David N. Schwartz

David N. Schwartz, 97, of Maumee formerly of Waterville and

Whitehouse, Ohio passed away Monday August 29, 2022, at the

Elizabeth Scott Community where he has resided for the past 5 years.

David was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 25, 1925 to Norman and

Estelle (Czubachowski) Schwartz. David served in the US Army in the

infantry division during WWII. David was awarded the French Legion

of Honor, the highest award that can be bestowed by the French

Government. David was the former owner of the Panitorium Dry

Cleaners on Junction Avenue for many years.

David was a member of Community of Christ Lutheran Church in

Whitehouse, Ohio. David was an avid bowler and golfer being a vested

member of Valley Wood Golf Course. David was also a member of the

Waterville Golf League for over 45 years.

David was preceded in death by his two wives: Barbara and Doris

and brother-in-law, Robert DeShetler. Surviving are

his sons: Mark Schwartz, Jeff Schwartz and Terry (Gretchen) Schwartz,

daughter: Jennifer (Roger) Thomas, sister: Sally DeShetler,

step-daughters: Sandra (Roy) Weilant, Patricia (Michael) Leahy, Lisa

(Mark) Tippey, Christina Beyer and Jenetha (Tony) Piecz, step-sons:

Gregory (Barb) Beyer, Christopher (Jackie) Beyer. Also surviving are

numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren,

step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great

grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at The Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home

located at 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd (at Byrne Road) on Friday

September 9, 2022, from 4-8 pm. Services will be held on Saturday,

September 10, 2022 at 10:30 am; interment will follow at Whitehouse

Cemetery with Pastor Marcus Lohrmann from Community of Christ

Lutheran Church in Whitehouse, Ohio. The Schwartz family would like

to thank the nurses and aids at Elizabeth Scott Community for the loving

care shown to their father. The family suggests memorials to the St.

Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Condolences to the family can be sent
