Ruth Salopek, 90, of Ross Township, died peacefully on Friday, August 26, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Stephen Salopek Sr.; parents Richard and Frances Foley; brothers Richard, William, and Dennis and is survived by siblings Thomas (Shirley), Julia (Erland) Chavarria, and Patrick (Donna), along with numerous nieces and nephews. 
   
She was the beloved mother of Stephen Jr. (Monica), Betsy (Gregor) Thompson, Cindy, and David (Traci).   The light of her life was her seven grandchildren: Ian, Stephen lll (Kristin), Samuel, Claire, Nathan, Sophie, Chloe, and great-grandaughter, Meredith. 

A graduate of St. John's School of Nursing, Ruth was a dedicated, practicing registered nurse for over 50 years.  She will be remembered for her famous nutroll, boundless energy, and practical wisdom.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Meals On Wheels, where Ruth was a volunteer until recently. 

A memorial mass will be held at St. Athanasius Church, 7 Chalfonte Ave., Pittsburgh, Pa. 15229, on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 9:30 a.m.   The family would like to thank the staff members of The Good Samaritan Hospice Home, Wexford, for their expertise and compassionate care.
