Mary Robin “Cookie” Bayless, age 72, passed away on August 25, 2022, at 10:14 p.m. at the Cumberland Rehab and Health Care Center in Greenup, IL.

Funeral Services will be on Monday August 29, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Apostolic Center Church located at 205 Country Club Rd in Mattoon, IL. Visitation will be from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. on August 29, 2022, at the Apostolic Center Church. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mattoon. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo, IL is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mary was born on November 19, 1949, the daughter of Sherald B. and Reva (Decker) Ballinger, in Mattoon, IL. She married John Bayless on December 23, 1978. Mary is survived by her husband, children, Patrick Bayless, Chelsey (Jeremy) Decker and Brandy (Eddy) Pentz and Wendy Henry; brother, Gerald Ballinger; grandchildren, Molly Persich, Alec Henry, Brody Henry, Edward Pentz, Savannah Pentz, Caroline Pentz, and Judah Decker; great-grandchildren, Aeva Gauna, Solona Gauna, Luna Gauna, Oakley Henry, and Harlow Henry. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother Sherald Ballinger Jr.

Mary was a homemaker and was a member of the Apostolic Center Church.
