Elizabeth A. Rea, 94, passed away in Walnut Creek on Saturday, January 14, 2017. She was born on September 3, 1922 in Tower, Minnesota to Anton and Frances (Znidarsich) Stefanich. After graduating from Tower High, Elizabeth moved to Minneapolis, and later to Oakland. There she met her husband, Malcolm Rea, whom she married in 1951. The couple settled in Lafayette, where they raised five sons. Some of Elizabeth’s favorite pastimes were knitting, cooking, and reading. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, an infant son, and her brother Anthony “Bud” Stefanich. She is survived by her four sons Jeff (Cynthia), Joe, Steve (Mimi) and Brian, as well as by her four grandchildren, Katherine, Chris, Jessica and Laura. She was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Memorial services will be private.
