Elmer Richard Rhodes Age 88 of Denmark, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. He was born on April 28, 1934, to Karl and Marie Rhodes (Cole) in Pontiac, Michigan. On November 6, 1954, Elmer married Marian Louise Cowdin in Lake Orion, MI. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and was a part of the Maribel Lions Club. Before he retired, he was a fieldman for NFO. Elmer was the ultimate gardener and nature lover. What Elmer enjoyed more than anything was the company and affection of his family, friends, and many nieces and nephews. Elmer is survived by his wife Marian; children, Denise (Craig) Rhodes, Debby (Dan) Arndt, Mike (Wendy), Keith (Barb), and Diane (Dale) Wierschke; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Clarence), David, Katie, Mary (Alex), Maggie (Michael), Amanda (Derek), Erin (Pat), Sabiha, and Wil; great-grandchildren, Sophie, Logan, Aaron, Madisen, Hailey, Flint, Martin, Michael, Angelo, and Aiden; brothers, Karl and John (Kathy); and sisters-in-law, Pauline Roellig and Charlotte Cowdin. Elmer is preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Marie; and sisters, Barbara, Margaret, and Shirley. Family and friends may gather on Saturday, August 27, from 9:00am to 10:45am at Zion United Methodist Church, 231 Chicago St, Denmark. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am with Pastor Laura Reimer officiating. Interment will take place immediately following the service. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to organizations of the donor’s choice.
