Carlene Hathaway Obituary

“Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.”

     Alice Carlene Hathaway – November 29, 1948 ~ August 17, 2022 of Filer, passed away peacefully following an illness. 

     She was born on November 29, 1948 at St. Valentine’s Hospital in Wendell, Idaho to Ed and Velda Sheer.  She graduated from Shoshone High School in 1967.  She furthered her education at Idaho State University majoring in Arts and Psychology.

     Carlene married Larry Hathaway June 27, 1980 in Elko, Nevada, and they started ranching in Shoshone raising cattle.  Her roots were deep in the farm, and she worked to grow and improve it her entire life.

     Carlene also raised a large garden every year with vegetables, fruits and beautiful flowers.  Gardening, reading, raising goats and riding her horse – Banjo were special lifelong hobbies for her.

     Carlene is survived by: her husband – Larry Hathaway and many families and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her parents – Ed and Velda Sheer.

     A graveside service will be held at the Shoshone Cemetery on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 11:00 am.  Services are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service – Gooding Chapel.

     A celebration of life will follow at the Shoshone L.D.S. Cultural Hall at 505 North Greenwood Street in Shoshone.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to Farmer’s National Bank.
