Naomi Winterink, 77, of Charles City, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City. Inurnment will take place at Sunnyside Memory Gardens in rural Charles City at a later date. Naomi Jean (Finette) Winterink, the daughter of Clarence and Oneita (Garlock) Finette, was born on December 9, 1944 in Mason City. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1963. Naomi was united in marriage to Gary Holt in 1963. To this union the couple had two children: Penny and Troy. The couple later divorced. Naomi married Robert “Bob” Winterink on November 7, 1975. To this union the couple had two children: Shelly and Kimberly. Naomi worked many years for the Mason City school district in the kitchen. When the family moved to Charles City, she worked as a dietary aide in the kitchen at the Floyd County Medical Center for 29 years. Naomi enjoyed reading, shopping, watching soap operas, and going to the casinos. She also held a special place in her heart for her two Schnoodles, Sparky and Spanky. Living family members include her husband, Bob; children: Penny Holt, Troy Holt, Shelly (Brodie) Dockendorf, Kimberly (Doug) Kellogg, Roby (Lori) Winterink and Michael (Carla) Winterink; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren with one more on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepson, Jody Winterink; sister, Marilyn McClary; and first husband, Gary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
