Jimmie Lee Kolling, 66, of Leavenworth passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, KS.

He was born on August 21, 1955 to Robert Lee and Janice (Blankenhip) Kolling in Dayton, Ohio and later moved to Leavenworth, KS where he met his wife, Mickie..

Jimmie joined the US Army and was stationed at Ft. Leavenworth from June 21, 1974 to March 23, 1982. During his service he was stationed in Korea. When he was honorably discharged from the military, he went to work at Ft. Leavenworth (USDB) and the Department of Corrections (USP) and until October 29, 2005. He always stated his job was a "Glorified Babysitter" position at both locations. Jimmie was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed greatly.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda Crowe.

Jimmie is survived by his wife, Mickie, son Jeremy Kolling and his daughter Sharon (Kenneth) Kramer. Five grandchildren, Makayla, MyKenzie, Alicia, Kenneth II, and Emily Kramer. Brother, David Kolling and two sisters, Pam (Todd) Boose and Carol (Terry) Lawson.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the funeral home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be on Friday, August 19, 2022 at the funeral home at 10:00 am, with Pastor Gary "Sam" Sanford, officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 am at Leavenworth National Cemetery with US Army military honors.
