Suzanne Marie Louise Bell Obituary

Peacefully on Thursday, August 11, 2022, Sue passed away at Concordia Hospital at the age of 92.

Sue was predeceased by her husband Ed Bell, sisters Irene (Alfie), Simone (Walter) and Alice (Eugene), and brothers Paul (Marianne) and Fernand.

She is survived by her sisters Denise (Ted), Liliane (Don) and Nicole (Jim) and her children Robin, Maxine (Ruffo), Alan, Brian (Barbara), Colleen (Joe), Charlotte (Don), Bonnie, and Jeannette (Richard) as well as 25 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and one on the way.

Mom was born in Assiniboia, SK, and married the love of her life on July 24, 1954. During her life, Mom worked on the family farm and St. Boniface and St. Pierre Hospitals respectively. After retiring Mom and Dad traveled to many places throughout Canada and the United States, until they finally settled in Kelowna, BC. They decided to return to Manitoba to be closer to their family and chose a beautiful spot in Paradise Village in Ste Anne where Mom had lots of room to putter (which she loved to do)! You can bet that when you dropped by, Mom would have something sweet for you to enjoy and you would most likely be sent home with something, whether it was food or a recent purchase she had just made that she would give to you, which would save her the time of returning it. After Dad passed, Mom settled in Winnipeg at Lion’s Place where she made many friends and was loved by everyone.

Mom always dressed elegantly, had a beautiful smile and lovely blue eyes that laughed and sparkled. She loved her Catholic Church, square dancing, shuffleboard (was the champ), jigsaw puzzles, desserts, chocolate in any form, cards, games, bridge and each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was loved in return with affection by all.

Her life journey was one of caring for people, especially her family.

We will be celebrating Sue’s life and passing at Saint Mary’s Cathedral at 353 St. Mary Avenue on Saturday, August 20 at 11:00 am, with reception to follow at Lion’s Place, 610 Portage Avenue at 12:30 pm.

Sue’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Victoria Hospital and Concordia Hospital for their compassion and tender loving care.

Goodbye Mom, we will miss your beautiful smile, quirky sense of humour and your gift for returning everything.

Even to your old age and gray hairs

I am He, I am He who will sustain you.

I have made you and I will carry you;

I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

Isaiah 46:4
